At Totter + Tumble, we’ve always believed in the importance of play. More than just a moment of fun, play is how children explore, heal, and connect, especially during challenging times. Since 2018, our Play Matters campaign has been reaffirming our mission to create stylish, safe, and hygienic play spaces for children. Through over 350 donations to hospitals, community spaces and charities worldwide, our Totter + Tumble foam play mats continue to make a lasting impact where hygienic safe play is most needed.

As we look back on 2024, we’re proud to share the incredible impact Play Matters has had this year. Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to provide over 50 more luxury play mats to children’s organisations worldwide and to help them create more spaces where children can feel safe, supported, and loved.

Since 2018, we have donated over 350 play mats to amazing places including hospitals, hospices, refuges and other children's centres, across the UK, EU and US.

 

Why Play Matters: The Power of Play

A hospital stay, therapy session, or time in hospice can be a really difficult and complicated period in a child’s life. This time is often filled with challenging emotions and experiences, and so play becomes an even more essential part of a child’s well-being.

This is where our play mats shine. Totter + Tumble play mats are:

• Hygienic: With a non-porous, sealed surface, they’re anti-bacterial and easy to clean.
• Portable: Lightweight and rollable, they can be moved between rooms or wards.

2024 Highlights: Supporting Communities Across The UK and Beyond

This year, we donated 44 play mats across 28 locations in the UK, including:

• Paediatric Palliative Care, Glangwili Hospital
• Northbrook Ward, Winchester Hospital
• Children’s Ward, Cumberland Infirmary
• Oak Tree Centre, NHS Cambs
• Children’s Services, St Andrew's Hospice

Our impact reached across the Atlantic too, with donations to 5 US charities including Room to Grow in the Bronx and Boston, Born Abel and Project MOST. 

These mats will be such a wonderful addition to our classes, offering both practicality and fun for all the little ones. 

From the vibrant, colourful designs which help to brighten up the space, to the soft memory foam texture that provides the perfect cushion for playtime, these mats are going to make a big difference in helping us create an engaging and comfortable environment for everyone.

Building Connections: Over 350 Totter + Tumble Play mats Donated and Counting

Since launching in 2018, through Play Matters, we have donated over 350 memory foam play mats to 250+ locations. From hospitals to hospices, refuges to community groups, these play mats have brought comfort and joy to children in the UK, Europe, and the USA.

Some of our most impactful partnerships include:

• Furnishing Futures (UK): Transforming homes for women and children fleeing domestic abuse.
• Baby2Baby (USA): Providing essentials for children living in poverty.
• Sophia Children’s Hospital (EU): Supporting children with rare and complex disorders.
